'Killjoys' Season 2: Is An Invasion Coming To The Quad? Aaron Ashmore Teases Finale [VIDEO]
Trouble is coming to the Quad, but Killjoys is keeping the who, the what, and the why tightly under wraps.
All season long, Johnny (Aaron Ashmore), Dutch (Hanah John-Kamen), and D'avin (Luke Macfarlane) have encountered signs that their current problems are a symptom of a larger problem. From Adaline Simms' (Jayne Lewis) assertion that Qresh needs a break-glass-in-case-of-invasion virus to Romwell's (Keon Alexander) terrifying tale of his past, Killjoys is laying a trail of breadcrumbs. Unfortunately, it sounds as if viewers won't be able to Hansel and Gretel their way to the truth until season 3.
"Yes, I think that we're setting up for that a little bit, you know, that there is an outside force that is sort of asserting its will on the Quad," Ashmore told reporters on Tuesday.
The actor couldn't tease too much about the finale ("How to Kill Friends and Influence People" will air on Sept. 2), but it sounds as if the closing hour will defiantly leave fans clamoring for a renewal.
"I don't know if we get into that whole specific storyline...[but] it sort of alludes to that or starts painting that picture when Romwell from the 'I Love Lucy' episode starts talking about where the green came from and that his world was sort of invaded and taken over," Ashmore teased. "I don't think we get into exactly what all that stuff is or really get into those storylines but is sort of where we're coming from or I think where we're headed towards."
For now, however, our heroes have more immediate problems to deal with - the residents of Old Town are high as a kite, John and Pawter (Sarah Power) were just implicated in a murder, D'av's struggling to master his powers over the green goo, and Dutch has the Aneela mystery biting at her heals. Whatever the future hold for the Quad, the Killjoys squad needs to make it through the next two episodes first.
Killjoys airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on Syfy. Click the video below to see a preview for the series' next episode, "Johnny Be Good."
