When Kobe Bryant joined Twitter earlier this year, one of the benefits of his social media time, was that he could interact with his fans, critics or anyone that tweeted him. Bryant who was issued a $100,000 fine for using an antigay slur on the basketball court in 2011, intervened when two fans were debating basketball and one of them used the word "gay" to slam the player Sunday night.
Dr. Tam O'Shaughnessy was Sally Ride's partner of 27 years. While many recognize the name of the late astronaut who died on Monday from pancreatic cancer, Ride's lesbian partner, O'Shaughnessy is also an accomplished woman who often co-worked with Ride.
