The 20-year-old singer and judge on Fox's The X Factor Demi Lovato confirmed on March 28 that she will return for season 3, and fellow judge Simon Cowell couldn't be happier, despite their clashing moments.
Britney Spears has officially quit "The X Factor USA" after just one season. According to reports it was because she learned that she would not have been asked to return for Season 3. "Spears was not going to be asked back and so she will not return for season three," a source told The Hollywood Reporter.
The fierce competition between the Top 3 acts-Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens and Fifth Harmony- was described by the show's co-host Khloe Kardashian as "a schoolgirl against a family man against five girls who has never given up."
Music executive L.A. Reid announced he would not be returning to "The X Factor" for Season 3 next year. Now the show's creatoe Simon Cowell has his eye on a mega-star to replace him. According to a report, Cowell is eyeing pop singer Rihanna to join the program either in the U.S. or in Britain to help increase the show's sagging viewership.
A frontrunner for "The X Factor" was shocklingly eliminated from the Top 4 acts on Thursday, Dec. 13. One of Simon Cowell's groups was sent home, despite becoming a favorite among the judges, in a decision soley based on audience votes.
"The X Factor" revealed the Top 4 semi-finalists and a surprise elimination led Demi Lovato to become the first mentor to lose all of her acts for the season. Lovato's contestant CeCe Frey was the first act to end up on the chopping block for the night's double elimination. She got the boot due to receiving the least amount of votes from viewers at home. "I'm very proud of everything that I've done on this show," said Frey, 20.
