"America's Next Top Model winner" CariDee English sympathizes with Jael Strauss, a former show contestant who appeared on a "Dr. Phil" episode (set to air Thursday, Sept. 13) for a methamphetamine addiction. On a Gawker article, which described and included the "Dr. Phil" trailer, English criticized Tyra Banks and the show, for not doing enough to help the former contestant and prevent her downfall.
Jael Stauss, 28, had big dreams when she appeared on Tyra Bank's show "America's Next Top Model," Cycle 8. But, Strauss let go of those dreams and has spiraled into a full-blown addiction to methamphetamine. Her brother, Brandon, and mother, Debbie, were so concerned about they asked her to travel to Los Angeles so they could stage an interview with Dr. Phil on his talk show.
Tyra Banks says it's "not fair that certain people are born with certain things" so plastic surgery is "absolutely fantastic" for those who don't have supermodel good looks.
Tyra Bank praises the decision of Vogue magazine, which pledged to ban girls who "appear to have an eating disorder". The decision came earlier this month when editors of the magazine agreed to the new stance.
