On Teen Mom 2 season five, Messer was seen alleging Simms wasn't doing his part in helping Ali get a wheelchair, but according to Simms, he did what he could.

"I honestly tried as hard as I could’ve for the wheelchair to be approved," he said. "It took so long for the insurance to approve it for their own reasons. It’s not that it was hard for me to accept it and that I didn’t want it."

When asked what led him to his breaking point with Messer, as well as his reported exit from Teen Mom 2, Simms explained, "A lot had to happen before I got to that point. One thing that definitely helped was the fact that I met the beautiful Miranda. Then Leah’s issues drove me to the point I’m at now."

Teen Mom 2 season six airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on MTV.
