It had previously been reported that Malone was cast in a secret role for Batman v Superman, but now that role has been identified. Reputable film spoiler site Latino-Review says that Malone will play Barbara Gordon.

Barbara Gordon, as Batman fans know, is the daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon. She often transforms into either Batgirl or Oracle depending on the comic. Alicia Silverstone played Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in 1997's Batman & Robin.

Fans has previously speculated on who Malone would be playing, with some media sites even reporting that she'd be playing a female Robin, based on Carrie Kelley in the comics.

It remains to be seen how prominent Malone's Barbara will be in Batman v Superman, though this just widens the ensemble even further.

Other stars and characters in the film include Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth.

Other stars expected to make minor appearances in the film include Jason Momoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry and Ray Fisher as Cyborg/Victor Stone.
