This society has a habit of body shaming certain men and women, but Raven Symone recalls it happening to her when she was only 7-years-old.

Raven Symone Goes Peach For Holiday Season

On The View earlier this week, the former child star discussed being fat-shamed on The Cosby Show and how strange it was at such a young age.

"It was definitely hard," she said via People. "I remember not being able to have the bagel or anything at- we would call it crafty, where it's just a table of food, ready for you to eat whatever you want. And I remember people would be like, 'You can't eat that. You're getting fat!' I'm like, 'I'm 7! I'm hungry!'"

How Does Raven Symone Think Freedom Works In America?

Unfortunately, comments like this spread over the course of Symone's career, which put her in a rough state of mind.

"Even up until I got up to 180 lbs. on That's So Raven, you put nasty stuff in front of me, or you put images of these women that I'll never aspire to, of course I'm going to get depressed," she said.

Symone then pointed out that there is a lot more to weight gain than just the food, itself.

"It's more than just the food- it's what's in the food, and it's your cortisol level and it's your serotonin level," she said. "That has a really strong effect on your body type."
