Real Madrid will look to continue its positive momentum when they face off against Ajax in a Champions League showdown.

The football club is coming off a 2-0 victory against Atletico Madrid on Saturday while Atletico lost its matchup to Dortmund by a 4-1 margin on Nov. 21.  Hence, the Los Blancos are surely the favorites in the game against the Amsterdam opponents.

Real's win over Atletico aside, it also recently defeated Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey by a score of 3-0.  In the last Champions League match, the team tied Manchester City 1-1.  Just a few weeks prior, the football club also drew in its game versus Borussia Dortmund.

While Real's match versus Ajax won't have any significance on where it will end up in the Group D standings, it will give the team the positive energy needed to progress.

The Ajax side is facing turmoil over their status with Christian Eriksen. ESPN reported that there's been speculation that he doesn't wish to remain with the team once his contract expires in 2014. However, he still has the capabilities to play a crucial role in any potential upset over Real Madrid. The 20-year-old midfielder has put up four goals in the last six games in the Eredivisie.

Nonetheless, Eriksen will have his work cut out for him against the likes of Pepe and Raphael Varane. Cristiano Ronaldo is also expected to pose a threat to Eriksen and the rest of the Amsterdam squad. If the superstar can put one in the back of the net early, then Real Madrid would be in a superb position for the victory.
