Grey's Anatomy emotionally harms viewers time and time again thanks to Shonda Rhimes' knack for causing such chaos to the beloved characters working in Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

What's Coming Up In 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 For Dr. Miranda Bailey?

With season 12 on its way, there is a lot to remember from what happened in just the previous season. For instance, Dr. April Kepner (Sarah Drew) went through a lot, including watching her child with Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) die from a rare bone disease.

April then left to join the Army to help others, which seemed to cause quite the rift between her and Jackson. During the season 11 finale, April was back in Grey Sloan, but she was itching to leave again, but Jackson hit her with the brutal truth that he wouldn't be waiting around for her if she were to leave. She appeared devastated, but it'll be interesting to see what comes of their relationship in season 12.

Will Jo & Alex's Relationship On 'Grey's Anatomy' Last Through Upcoming Season?

Drew is definitely looking forward to whatever Rhimes throws at her. Over the weekend Digital Spy revealed exactly how Drew feels about the ups and downs, ins and outs that her character has gone through and probably will continue to go through.

"If I get to continue to evolve in the way that I've been able to evolve in the last six years, yes, [I'll stay]," the actress admitted, adding, "I mean, number one: being a part of this show in particular is such an honor, the writing is so incredible, the people are so amazing and the fans are so enthusiastic."

Drew dished that she's "spoiled" by the excellent writing on Grey's Anatomy and other shows and movies just don't measure up.

"When I read [other] scripts over the hiatus, I'm like, 'This is all such garbage!' I get to do such great work and have such great writing all year long. So yeah, I'd love to stay on as long as they'll have me, but you never know how long that'll be!" she beamed.

Grey's Anatomy will premiere its twelfth season on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET.
