It's been nearly a week since the public outcry over the death of Cecil the Lion reached a boiling point after the hunter who was responsible for his death was revealed, and the outrage is only continuing as more news continues to break involving the case.

Not only is backlash continuing to prevail against Walter Palmer, the American Dentist who paid $50,000 to hunt the animal and kill him, but Zimbabwean officials are also calling for the extradition of other Americans who are accused of hunting and killing lions as well.

To better understand the developing story, we've constructed a timeline to better explain the developments as they occur:

Early In July:

Cecil's carcass is found, skinned and decapitated, with his tracking collar partially destroyed. An investigation begins to find who killed him.

July 28:

Walter Palmer is identified as the American hunter who paid to hunt Cecil. After he is outed by Zimbabwean authorities, he closes his dental practice in Minnesota, and releases a statement amid major outrage that he regretted his actions and believed everything he had done was legal.

After his identity was revealed, people around the world expressed their outrage towards Palmer, and protesters took up camp outside his dental office to leave signs and tributes to Cecil. His dental practice also took a hit on review sites like Yelp, with scores of reviews berating him for killing Cecil were left.

July 31:

Zimbabwean officials call for Palmer's extradition to the country to face charges for crime of killing Cecil. However, he appears to have gone missing, as members of law enforcement for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have been unable to contact him.

August 1:

The Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force reports that Cecil's brother, Jericho, was also shot and killed in an illegal hunt. Though a lion did die, the information that it was Jericho was reported incorrectly.

August 2:

The Daily Mail reveals more details about Palmer's supposed plans for Cecil's head, with sources telling the publication about a shrine Palmer reportedly had on one of his several properties in Minnesota with over 50 heads of animals he's killed.

August 3:

Zimbabwean officials call for the extradition of another American doctor, a gynecological oncologist from Pittsburgh, Penn. named Jan Casimir Seski, for killing another lion in the country back in April. His hunt is also being called illegal, and reportedly occurred without a permit.
