Tony Dovolani is really hoping he can become a judge in the coming seasons of ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

Which 'Dancing With the Stars' Pros Are Nominated For Emmys This Year?

Dovolani, who has been a pro with the reality series since season 2, wants to make the transition to permanent judge.

"I would love to judge, and I think I would be a great judge," Dovolani told People recently. "Considering I've had so many different partners, I know the road that every single one of those partners has taken. It's not like I've always had the ringers."

Dovolani has indeed had all types of celebrities as partners over the years, from ringers like Melissa Rycroft and Stacy Kiebler to those less inclined, like Betsey Johnson and Wynonna Judd.

"I've had the challenges. I've had the ringers. I've had the ones that needed to be worked on. [I've had] the ones that were going through tough times in their lives. So I feel like I would be a great judge," Dovolani said.

If Dovolani did make the transition from pro to judge, he would be the second person to do so. Julianne Hough previously competed as a pro on the show from seasons 4-8 before quitting to do other projects. She returned in season 19, where she became the permanent fourth judge on the panel.

But regardless, Dovolani wants to continue doing the show in any capacity he can.

"I think my dancing shoes are still not done," he said. "I can do whatever they want me to do because I love the show. I love what it represents. I love what it does for people. So in any capacity that I'm involved with Dancing with the Stars, I'm very happy to do it."

Dancing With the Stars returns for another season on Monday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
