Jenelle Evans' court date has been continued, and according to a source, it may have been due to her recent split from Nathan Griffith.

Although Evans and her mother, Barbara Evans, were due in court on Tuesday to address the Teen Mom 2 star's desire to regain custody, no amendments have been made to the case.

“Jenelle’s hearing was continued until November,” a source close to the situation told Radar Online on Wednesday. “These cases take time. It isn’t an easy thing to get custody back and Jenelle has an uphill battle.”

According to the source, Evans had a better chance of regaining rights to her son when she was in a committed relationship with Griffith.

“It was good when Jenelle was with Nathan because it showed a stable household, but that has changed now that they’re broken up,” the source explained. “She has a long way to go to get custody back but she’s trying really hard.”

Evans and Griffith welcomed son Kaiser in June 2014, and became engaged early this year. However, after two fights, and two arrests, the couple's relationship came to an end two weeks ago, and Griffith has since moved on with someone new.
