Angelina Jolie said in a recent interview that quitting her profession as an actress and focusing instead on her family might be a reality as her children get older.

Britain's Channel 4 News asked the 37-year-old about her plans for the future and Jolie said that she would give up acting in the near future to focus on taking care of her family.

Jolie and fiancé Brad Pitt have six children: Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 6, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 4.

"I think I'm going to have to give up acting as the kids hit the teenage years," the Oscar winner said."I've enjoyed being an actress and I am so grateful to the job. I've had great experiences, and I have even be able to tell stories and be a part of stories that mattered..But if it went away tomorrow, I would be very happy to be home with my children."

Jolie has not starred in a 2012 film nor is she expected to be in a 2013 film, according to IMDb. Her next film, "Maleficent," will be released in 2014 and "Kung Fu Panda 3" is in post-production for a 2016 release. Her 2010 spy thriller "Salt" will have a sequel, however, a release date had not been announced at time of publication.

Pitt, who is currently filming the thriller "World War Z," told People magazine the couple's children are ready for them to get married.

"It means something to our kids," he said. "They want to see it happen."

He also added that, like Jolie, he enjoys spending down-time with his family instead of straineously focusing on his acting career.

"It's been more of an internal year for me. Within the home, with the family. It's been a family type of year. Mama's worked more," he said, referring to Jolie. "And quite frankly I've really enjoyed it."
