Apple's iOS 6 is at the center of hackers' attention with attempts to jailbreak the system.

Hackers from around the world gathered at the Hack in the Box conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia a month ago to discuss the latest news in technology exploitation. One of the hot topics at a panel discussion was the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak and when it will be available.

A video was posted on Youtube on Nov. 30 showing the panel discussion at the hackers' conference. Some of the news released in the video includes the point that Apple had patched up the security in iOS 6 that made it very difficult for exploiters to work around, but the time is being split between hacking team members to break the system.

Currently the untethered jailbreak doesn't exist, but hackers are working on the system exploit.

For those unaware, the iOS jailbreak eliminates the limitations forced by Apple on devices running the company's latest operating system through the use of software tweaks on devices that include iPhones, iPads, and more. A tethered system means the procedure must be repeated every time the smartphone reboots.

Apple users were excited to see new photos reportedly showing the progress of the jailbreak. @Planetbeing, one of the team members from the iPhone Dev group working on the break, posted a photo on Twitter showing an iPhone 5 running a tweak featuring IntelliScreenX Cydia. It's been over three weeks since the picture was taken and no news of any estimated dates for the jailbreak to be released.

Though the untethered jailbreak isn't a reality yet, phony websites are touting that they have it available for iOS 6 and iOS 6.0.1. The latest updates by iPhone Dev-Team and the Chronic Dev Team will be posted when they are available for Apple users.

While the iPhone 5 is busy being hacked, Apple may be pushing up production of the next iteration of the device. A new leak supposedly showed photos of Apple's new iPhone 5S. The photos were leaked by NoWhereElse.fr, and show a similar looking device to the iPhone 5 with small changes like the placements of some of the screws.

Not much is known at this point about the iPhone 5S and the supposed leak only heightens the interest of Apple customers around the world waiting for its official release.
