Travis Fimmel (Ragnar) left fans wondering when he mentioned the debut of a "unique relationship" with a new woman while at San Diego Comic-Con, compounding the surprise announcement by adding that he originally wasn't sure if the new character's existence was even historically possible.

No, this new woman won't be pulled from Norse mythology. She will, however, be plucked from the Far East. In short, Ragnar will be captivated by Yindu (Dianne Doan), an enigmatic Chinese slave.

First captured in the Red Sea, Yindu encountered the Vikings as they ransacked Paris in season 3. Doan's character was than brought to Kattegat, which is where viewers will pick up her story.

"The people of Kattegat have never seen someone like her, from her looks, to views on the world and beliefs," Doan told the International Business Times. With Ragnar's intense interest in all things foreign, it won't be long before he becomes captivated by the town's latest addition.
