The development of Fast and Furious 8 is underway, and some details about the plot have also been trickling through.

Could Cara Delevingne Join Fast and Furious 8?  

One of the latest developments related to the movie is that Jason Statham, who played the antagonist, Deckard Shaw, in Furious 7, will be returning for the sequel. While talking about his filming schedule with Den of Geek, the actor revealed that he had to plan it according to the production dates for Fast and Furious 8. "There's 'Fast 8,' they want to do another one," he said. This has also led to speculation about Deckard joining Dominic's (Vin Diesel) crew and not playing villain in the next chapter.

Another big piece of news came from Diesel, who shared visual art for Fast and Furious 8 via his Instagram page. While nothing is official yet, there has been speculation about the poster being a formal announcement of the title of the film and the fact that it will be set in New York City. The title sticks to a conventional Fast and Furious 8, unlike the seventh installment which just went by Furious 7.

Furious 7 Should Win Best Picture Oscar, According To Vin Diesel    

Dwayne Johnson is also set to return for the Furious 7 sequel. Johnson spoke to Collider about how Hobbs was integral to the plot. "Of course. It can't go on without Hobbs," he said.

In an interview with MTV Diesel stated that Paul Walker was certain of a sequel for Furious 7.

"Paul used to say that ['Fast & Furious] 8' was guaranteed and, in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass," Diesel said.

He went on to place Walker in the next project beautifully stating that next film will be "from" him.

"So, if fate has it - fate, 'F8' - then you'll get it. 'Furious 7′ was for Paul; 8 is from Paul.'"

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that it's still going to be a while to go before Fast and Furious 8 goes into production.

The film's producer Neal Moritz spoke the publication about their vision for the sequel to Furious 7. He suggested that right now the moment was about celebrating the massive success of Furious 7 and they will get to discussing what their plans are going forward in a while.

"Honestly, we're just bathing in the success of this," he said. "We'll probably get together in a week or so to talk."

Fast and Furious 8 will be released on April 15, 2017.
