Laura Prepon seems to have hinted at the fate of her Orange Is the New Black character in a new interview.

Are 'Orange Is the New Black's Poussey & Soso Getting Together In Season 4?

Prepon, who plays Alex Vause on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, spoke at a New York screening for the season 3 finale recently. The actress suggested that her character will return for season 4 in a major way.

"We can't really say too much," Prepon said, via The Associated Press. "She's dealing with a lot this year."

How Different Is 'Orange Is the New Black's Piper Chapman From Her Real-Life Inspiration?

When fans last saw Alex, she was reacting in surprise upon seeing Aydin (Juri Henley-Cohn) an old associate of Kubra (Eyas Younis) face her down in the prison. The finale left things open-ended regarding Alex's fate, though there was a hint that things would not end well for her.

Prepon discussed Alex being shown to be paranoid throughout season 3 as a good examination of the depths of her character.

"Alex will always be very, very cool," Prepon said. "It's just always nice when you can see that side to a person."

It is unknown if Prepon is returning as Alex in present-day scenes or flashbacks, though based on the actress' comment that she is "dealing with a lot this year," it seems like the former is more likely.

Ultimately, Prepon is just happy to be encouraged to grow as an actress through the show.

"The (writers) really push us out of our comfort zones," she said. "When there is this awesome scene that you have to be raw and you have to be vulnerable. I know that my amazing co-stars are going to be there to support me, and it really is this incredible sisterhood."

Orange Is the New Black is currently available to stream on Netflix, with the fourth season expected for release in summer 2016.
