The romantic storylines on Grey's Anatomy are always so complex especially with Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) and Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez).

Back in May, Capshaw told TVLine that her character and Ramirez's character would be heading towards "peaceful coexistence" in this upcoming season, which is definitely true as they both venture out into dating other people.

TVLine revealed Thursday that both female doctors will be dating, but Callie will not be dating a guy like she has before.

"They're going to both be dating women," showrunner Shonda Rhimes shared, adding, "I do want to honor the fact that Callie is bisexual, and we've established that she's dated guys. But in terms of where she's going now, she's going to be dating a woman.

Plus, these new love interests are not ones viewers of Grey's Anatomy have seen before.

Then in terms of family relations, Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) will find herself living with Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone).

"I can tell you straight up that Maggie has a home," McCreary gushed, adding, "Remember how we never saw last season where Maggie lives? Now she lives with Amelia and Meredith in Ellis' house, which is super cool."

"There will definitely be some conflict, but of the hilarious variety as opposed to the sisters-pulling-each-other's-hair-out variety. You can expect some 'clashes of the titans' going on," McCreary explained of the new living situation.

Maggie is also going to have some love life exploration.

Grey's Anatomy returns to ABC on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET for its season 12 premiere.
