NBC just decided to outdo most crossovers we've seen on television so far, with a four-way spin featuring Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Med, Fire, and P.D. in the works.

Rollins To Get "Obsessed" With A Case In Season 17

A TVLine reports that this extravagant episode is currently being developed. Chicago Med executive producer, Dick Wolf, spoke to the publication about the project. "The crossovers are incredible ratings engines for us," Wolf said. "What we can't do is have them become commonplace. [There are] three this season, but they won't include all the shows."

The entire scope and immense undertaking that an episode like this would entail is a challenge but equally satisfying, Executive Producer Matt Olmstead added.

Odafin Tutuola To Return As Olivia's Sergeant For Season 17?

"They're very daunting. Like most creative endeavors, the daunting ones turn out to be the most gratifying," he explained.

This special bonanza of an episode is set to release in early February.

In other related news, it was recently revealed that the season 17 premiere of Law & Order: SVU is inspired by the Robert Durst case.

Vulture picked up on a bunch of crucial clues from the preview for the premiere that connect the plot to the Durst story -- from the protagonist being a very wealthy "untouchable" serial killer and also his method to dispose of the dead bodies in trashbags. Durst had hacked up some of his victims and stuffed their limbs in similar bags. Perhaps the use of the word dissections in the working title of the episode hints at that.

Season 17 will premiere on Sept. 23 on NBC.
