It's been years since the last Twilight film hit theaters and Kristen Stewart is still looking back on it.

Reporter Asks Kristen Stewart If She Is Still In Love With Robert Pattinson

On Monday, Gossip Cop posted the details from the actress's interview with Toronto Sun. She said that she didn't expect the film to be as successful as it was, causing her life to change.

"I thought we could just do whatever we wanted, and we would never make a sequel, and the book was a jumping point and then we could kind of explore this realm, and move on," Stewart recalled. "And then, all of a sudden, it turned into something...it absolutely happened overnight."

Not only was the Twilight series a big deal due to the popularity of the books, but Stewart was dating her co-star Robert Pattinson when the movies came out. The actress mentioned how she and everyone else involved with the films felt something completely different in such a short amount of time.

"It was a huge shock to the system. Not just speaking personally," the 25-year-old said. "The whole production and every actor involved was hit with this like a ton of bricks."

Even though Stewart had to make some sacrifices when these movies turned her into a star, she looks at the entire situation as a gift.

"Honestly, if you're going to focus on what you lose rather than what you gain in a position like this- and I don't mean monetary gain- I've given so much happiness and stimulation by what I do," she said. "It would be silly to focus on the fact I can't go to malls anymore, I'd rather focus on the fact I'm working with incredibly intelligent, driven people who I just want to be around."
