They've been all over the world in the past 26 seasons, but the upcoming 27th season of The Amazing Race could be featuring the most out-of-this-world destination yet.

A Team From TMZ Participating On 'The Amazing Race?'

In an interview at the CBS Fall Preview event, host Phil Keoghan teased that this season, the show would take teams to someplace they've never been before-a hard feat for a show that has filmed legs in rougly 85 countries around the world throughout the years.

"Well...we have not orbited the earth. And also, the moon is looking good right now," Keoghan teased.

He then expanded upon the idea, talking about how he thought it would be cool if the teams could take a trip off Earth and head to the moon for a task.

"Wouldn't it be really cool if we were doing The Amazing Race at a point where temas must now make their way to the moon," he said. "250,000 miles to the moon. Once they've landed, they must find the lunar module from 1969."

"yeah...so that's what's coming up on The Amazing Race next season. Teams are going to the moon!" he added.

Keoghan was joking of course, though he did admit that they were always trying to find ways to keep the show from getting stale and boring-hence finding new locations to film in whenever possible, as well as new tasks for teams to complete while there.

"Listen, we've got to keep this show fresh," he said before returning to the idea of going to space. "And that to me sounds like a great way to keep it fresh."

Season 27 premieres Friday, September 25 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
