Quinto won't be back for American Horror Story's upcoming fifth season, titled Hotel. The in-demand actor is very busy with a film career and told MTV News recently that he has not been in contact with the show's producers.

"I haven't heard from [AHS co-creator] Ryan [Murhpy] in a long time. I hope he's doing well," Quinto said. "I'm certainly happy for his continued success with that franchise and with 'American Crime Story,' which seems like it's going to be very cool. I haven't had any conversations about going back to 'American Horror Story' and I'm focused on a lot of other things right now, so I think the timing probably wouldn't work out at this point."

The actor guest starred in the first season of American Horror Story as Chad, one half of a gay couple that lived in the haunted house. He then took a series regular role as Dr. Oliver Thredson in American Horror Story: Asylum, a role that earned him an Emmy nomination.

While Quinto hasn't returned since, he is excited to see the new season.

"I'm excited to see it," he said. "It looks pretty cool, this season."

American Horror Story: Hotel will feature some of the show's regular players like Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Denis O'Hare while also featuring new blood in the form of Lady Gaga, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield and more.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
