The Flight of the Conchords are preparing to descend with aplomb, bringing back their quirk and wry wit with that ever-so-delightful twanging.

Here's some mellifluous news for Flight of the Conchords fans' ears: writing for a movie based on the cult TV show is underway. And if that's not enough, the crew is also going to be going on North American tour soon.

Jemaine Clement, one half of the duo, confirmed the news and gave away a few details in an interview with Consequence of Sound. Clement revealed that the tour was actually meant to take place this summer but the musician/actor was preoccupied with another big project.

"We were planning on doing it this summer, but then I ended up doing The BFG instead," Clement siad. "So it's my fault we didn't do it this time. But we are hoping to announce a tour. We'll announce it before the end of the year, hopefully, and then some time next year get on the road ... after we get some new guitar strings and that sort of thing."

Recently, Clement had announced the more exciting news about developing the Flight of the Conchords movie to Indiewire.

"We have actually started writing one," Clement said. "Who knows if it will ever be made, we've written some notes for some different film ideas. We're not down to the stage where we're going, "The film is going to be like this," it could be this, this, this, this, this."

Time to let loose those rib-tickling noises:
