One Direction's massive stadium world tour resumed Tuesday night, after a brief break, in Ohio where they played to a crowd in Columbus at Ohio Stadium.

What Does One Direction's Niall Horan Think Of Heading Up The Apple Music Festival?

During this show, Liam Payne introduced "Girl Almighty," but what he said in the introduction did not sit well with many fans.<

"Anyway, this is my favorite song off the last album [FOUR] and it is about trying to find that No. 1 woman in your life, which none of you can relate to cause most of you are girls. Except for the boys in here, you know what I'm talking about," Payne said as seen in the video a fan took below.

Why Did Harry Styles Declare, 'That's The Last Time I Whip & Nae Nae,' Backstage At Kansas City Show?

"And this is 'Girl Almighty,'" he concluded before he, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Niall Horan dived into the catchy tune.

Many fans took the introduction as Payne hating on homosexual couples, which caused him to react on Twitter.

He feels as though some people take things way too literal in this day and age.

"[Y]ou guys know what I meant. [I]t was meant in general," Payne said.

"I am in no way, shape, or form homophobic," he added in another tweet, insisting he had no intentions of offending anyone.

The 1D member let his frustrations get the best of him as his rant continued. He claims to just want "to make people happy" during the shows.

Unfortunately for him, many nit-picked at what he said.

It let to him having a "crap end to a good day."

Payne's rant didn't end there though. He basically called out all those criticizing him for probably one time or another saying something that didn't come out quite right.

The 1D member even apologized again, saying, "I'm sorry to those I offended really I am but there's no need for some of the things I'm being called."

Then he reiterated that all he wants to do is make others happy.

Payne values fans' opinions about him and he clearly meant no harm. This isn't the first time he has been accused of being homophobic though. YouTuber Tyler Oakley is not a fan of the singer ever since he tweeted his love for Duck Dynasty since Phil Robertson caused controversy with remarks he made in an issue of GQ.

Despite the latest bout of drama revolving around whether Payne is homophobic or not, some fans who are not straight believe Payne when he says he meant no harm.

"You're not homophobic. People just like to start drama," a lesbian fan tweeted.

Many opposing the view that Payne is homophobic think it's ridiculous since many of the boy band's song are gender-based and since they're all young, straight men, they write and sing about female love interests so does that make all of them homophobic then? No, of course not.

Hopefully the drama will die down and fans can just go enjoy the music at the shows instead of fussing over things that have been blown out of proportion.
