Michael Shannon reveals some potentially big details regarding General Zod in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Henry Cavill Says Superman's Biggest Obstacle Is 'His Own Noggin'

Shannon, who played General Zod in Man of Steel, is set to return for its sequel, Batman v Superman. While General Zod died at the end of the first film, he will be back in some way in the sequel.

The actor spoke with Vulture about a particularly memorable moment on the set of Batman v Superman, and may have revealed some spoilers in the process.

Jena Malone's Mystery 'Batman v Superman' Role Finally Revealed

"I was in my costume, and I couldn't use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands," Shannon said. "So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn't open the door, and I could hear [director] Zack [Snyder] being like, 'Where's Shannon? Where the (expletive) is he?' and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, 'Let me out of here!'"

It will be interesting to see how Shannon factors into the new film. General Zod is seen presumably dead in the Batman v Superman trailer, so who knows how he will be involved in the upcoming movie.

The film also features the return of Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
