As Downton Abbey approaches the sixth and final season, a lot of juicy answers will be resolved.

'Downton Abbey' Actress Says 'IT's The Right Time' To End Series

On Thursday, Deadline shared an interview with Joanne Froggatt, known for playing Anna on the series. It's been an intense ride for this character as she's always had a complicated relationship with Mr. Bates. Things got more hectic when Anna was assaulted by Mr. Green who ended up dying later. Froggatt said that fans will find out what happened with this as well as where the romance between Anna and Bates lies.

"We do see the mystery behind Mr. Green's death resolved," the actress said. "Obviously how it's resolved I can't tell you, or whether it's good or bad for the Bates I can't tell you, but it's resolved. We get to the bottom with what exactly happened, and as always, there's quite a lot of drama for Anna and Mr. Bates in season six."

It's possible that these two might find the joy they long for, but it'll be a challenge to come across.

"There are always bits of happiness there for them as well, but it's never easily attained," Froggatt noted. "So we sort of carry on in that vein to finish off."

Froggatt won a Golden Globe Award this year for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a series.

Downton Abbey Season 6 premieres in the United States on Sunday, January 3 on PBS.
