Confused? Get in line.

Back in April, the Internet was riff with rumors regarding a Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki)/Hunter (Nick Blood) Agents of SHIELD spinoff. When upfronts rolled around, however, ABC squashed the plan. Now, Variety has reported that the two agents will, in fact, get their own series, albeit with a different look than the original proposal.

The endeavor will be produced by SHIELD's Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski and will be titled Marvel's Most Wanted.

"Insiders say the series is not a spinoff, per se, but rather an entirely new project solely focused on the two characters to continue their story," Variety reported on Thursday. "Though plot details are scarce at this point, Marvel's Most Wanted will follow the pair and their adventures together."

Whatever legerdemain brought this new series forth, the magician responsible should be handsomely rewarded. Fans shouldn't get too attached to the idea, however, as ABC has yet to formally announce the project.

In the meantime, viewers can catch up with Mockingbird and Lance Hunter on Agents of SHIELD when the series returns to ABC this September.
