Although we have already gotten a sneak peek at Aisha Tyler's character in season 11 of Criminal Minds via behind-the-scenes Twitter postings from the cast members, the first official look in the stills from the show were recently unveiled.

JJ's Husband Will To Return In Season 11?

Stills featuring Tyler's character, Dr. Tara Lewis, a forensic psychologist, were revealed exclusively to Entertainment Weekly, and the lady we're used to on The Talk has gotten a dramatic makeover for the show. She has gotten rid of the lustrous hair for a short hassle-free crop, and is all decked out in office wear suitable for the BAU.

Speaking to the publication, Tyler talked about her character's detail in the team.

Could Ella Greenaway Return For Season 11?

"The people in the BAU are analyzing these unknown subjects trying to catch them, but my character analyzes them after they've been caught to make sure they're competent to stand trial," Tyler said.

She went on to reveald how she "wanted her [Dr. Lewis] to look really different than how I look on The Talk."

"It's great because I get to do field work, I get to run around, wear a vest, wear a gun," she added. "She's someone who has gathered a lot of evidence about the psychological makeup of the sociopath and she's now bringing that knowledge into the field to help catch bad guys."

Showrunner Erica Messer also talked about working on this new addition to the BAU for season 11 and what qualities they were looking for in the character.

"Every time we introduce a new team member, we want to make sure that they're worthy of being a part of this elite criminal unit," Messer said. "She brings a different skill set than anyone else we've had. Once we've done our job and the bad guy is put away, she's seeing what makes them tick once they aren't hiding and running anymore. It's really a cool sandwich to what our team does. It's been a fun skill set to bring to the team, and one that we never thought we needed, but now that we have it, we love it."

Season 11 will premiere on Sept. 30 on CBS.
