They've been through a lot as a couple and still seem happier than ever together, but Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Caroline's (Linsey Godfrey) relationship is about to go through some of its toughest scrutiny on The Bold and the Beautiful.  

Ridge Stunned When Steffy Is Questioned About Aly's Death

They survived personal attacks from Rick (Jacob Young), Caroline's accident that left her with two broken ankles, and Ridge's takeover of the company, but Thomas (Pierson Fode) could prove to be the biggest obstacle to the pair as he continues to potentially try and stir up trouble for his ex and his father.

His newest tactic will be to determine whether or not the two are really happy together, and as such, he will use some time alone with Caroline to question her about the pair's romance.

Ivy's Demands Cause Trouble For Thomas

"Ridge and I are very happy," she says in a preview clip for the Friday, August 21 episode.

"Is being with him everything you'd hoped for?" Thomas asks.

What Thomas doesn't yet realize though is that asking that question will hit a sore spot for Caroline. Though she is happy with Ridge in several ways, there is one thing she wants with him, but was turned down on because he'd already been there. As such, her desire to be a mother and to have a baby is something she is putting on the backburner and trying to forget about, even though it is hurting her inside to do so.

Now, she may admit to Thomas that it is the one thing she wishes she could change about her relationship-and it could be the in he needs to try and win her back from his father once and for all.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
