Dealing with Supernatural's Metatron is about as safe as letting an angel inhabit your brother, but the Winchesters may have no other choice as Supernatural's eleventh season begins.

'Supernatural' Season 11: Where Did The Mark Go? Jensen Ackles Teases 'Premonitions' & Darkness

The Darkness has arrived, and its pre-biblical origins have Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) at a disadvantage. There is one angel, however abhorrent, who always seems to have an answer for everything. Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) wasn't able to cure the Mark of Cain, but The Darkness may be more up his ally.

"We're going to have to maybe go to Metatron for help or Castiel, and we don't even know what they know because the Darkness predates them as well," Padalecki told Entertainment Weekly. "We're going to see the boys really stop at no end to right this wrong they've brought onto this Earth."

Metatron, however, will probably be even more dangerous now that he has the demon tablet (see video below). Considering the damage he managed to cause with the angel tablet, it's a safe bet the scribe will already have some villainous machinations in play as The Darkness begins to spread.

Rejoin the Winchester brothers for season 11 starting Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
