President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) will be hitting some new depths of baseness in season 4 of House of Cards, if we are to take a hint from writer Michael Dobbs.

Michael Kelly Dishes About Doug's Rumored Exit In Season 4

Dobbs, who is the author of the original book that the British television show was based on, reveals that there will be no abating the vile acts as the U.S. show progresses. Ecumenical news sourced the author's quotes on what lies ahead for Netflix's House of Cards. "the forthcoming season will feature more wickedness" with more "Machiavellian scheming."

In fact it seems like Claire (Robin Wright) is not quite done with cruel games yet, even though the season 3 finale suggested otherise. Worse still, she might continue to keep the facade of marriage with Frank.

Showrunner Responds To Criticism Of Rachel's Murder On House of Cards

Recent reports speculate a very different turn of events in season 4 of House of Cards for the marriage of Frank and Claire.

Most had assumed that Frank and Claire had called it quits in the finale of season 3 of the Netflix political drama, and that, predictably, in the next chapter Claire was going to be on the war path against her former spouse. This had made logical sense up until now but new reports have set astir a rumor about things playing out rather differently.

It is being suggested that Frank and Claire might in-fact adopt a baby to make it seem like all is well in the family and keep up the facade of marriage in the public realm. While we are obviously going to take this reported twist in the plot with a pinch of salt, we know that the most preposterous and illogical things have happened on the show so this can't be completely dismissed. House of Cards has mostly been known to shock audiences, and this might be as surprising a twist as any other.

Season 4 is set to return in 2016.
