American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson reveals how the upcoming fifth season, Hotel, is similar to season 2, Asylum.

Why Isn't Zachary Quinto Returning To 'American Horror Story'?

Paulson, who has appeared in every season of American Horror Story, has begun work on Hotel, in which she will play a character named Hypodermic Sally, a tenant at the Cortez Hotel.

The actress recently spoke with Deadline about Hotel and how it it similar to Asylum in some ways.

How Sarah Paulson Is Like 'A Dog In A Window' Regarding Lady Gaga

"It's very different than previous seasons," she admitted, before adding. "You know, to me it sort of shares some similarities with 'Asylum' in the sense that it's in a hotel, it's in one place. Not to say that things don't happen outside of it, but to have one location everything revolves around reminds me a little bit of season two, so that's interesting."

Paulson played Lana Winters in Asylum, a character she has referred to as her favorite on multiple occasions.

Paulson also talked about the trend of her characters always making it out of each season alive, the only major star who can claim this. Will this change in Hotel?

"I sort of feel like some of the characters who have died on the show have died in these fantastic ways that are incredibly memorable," she said. "And sometimes audiences get very attached to those stories and how it all went down. So I wouldn't mind being involved in that kind of thing at all."

Fans will have to wait until October to see Paulson in action as Hypodermic Sally but in the mean time, she is currently nominated for an Emmy for playing Bette and Dot Tattler in AHS: Freak Show. Will she finally take home Emmy gold on Sept. 20?

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
