A new sergeant is heading over to Blue Bloods.

Danny Gets A Frightening Message On 'Blue Bloods' This Fall

It was announced on TV Line on Tuesday that an NYPD character named Delgado will make a guest appearance in a later episode of the crime drama this fall. Delgado will have a plan to increase accuracy of police statistics by learning about what the people of the city have to say. This will gain him a promotion from Frank Reagan.

While this sergeant might seem like he has good intentions, there could be something up his sleeve that audiences will want to watch out for. Whatever it is he's hiding, it might damage the good image he presents.

'Blue Bloods' Actor Welcomes Fans To First Day Of Shooting Sixth Season

Delgado will be played by actor Esai Morales whose previous credits include La Bamba, NYPD Blue and Rapa Nui.

Fans can expect some other new stories to come, which can sometimes be a challenge, according to Bridget Moynahan (Erin). In an interview with Phil Star, she dished on how everyone does what they can to keep everything exciting.

"I think the biggest challenge is trying to keep the work fresh. And you know, being on an ensemble, every script is so different so sometimes my character might work a little bit and then, sometimes, it might work a lot," the actress said. "So it goes to this ebb and flow of the material. And when you get the opportunity to have a juicier storyline on a certain episode, you just really dive into it and really try to make the most of it."

Blue Bloods Season 6 premieres this fall on CBS.
