Narcos is the latest streamable series released through Netflix. The series centers on Escobar (played by Wagner Moura) and his infamous Medellin Cartel. While the show offers an in-depth look into how Escobar built his cocaine empire, there are many other films that could provide further exploration.

Here are some of the more notable depictions of Escobar and his story from the world of film and television:

Blow (2001)

This George Jung biopic does not have Escobar at the center, but it does provide a glimpse into the Medellin Cartel. Escobar is a supporting character in the film, and his is played by Cliff Curtis. The film also stars Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz and Franka Potente.

Pablo Escobar - The King of Coke (2007)

This documentary features a look at Escobar's empire as told through interviews with DEA agents and high-ranking officials. The film is available to stream on YouTube.

Clear and Present Danger (1994)

This film does not tell the exact true story of Escobar, but there is a character heavily based on him. Ernesto Escobedo (played by Miguel Sandoval) is mostly based on Escobar and is one of the villains in the film.

30 for 30 (2010)

The ESPN documentary series has a film in its collection called The Two Escobars, which centers on the lives of the drug lord and the soccer player Andrés Escobar. Parallels are drawn between both men and their subsequent murders.

Entourage (2006-08)

The HBO series features an arc of Vincent Chase (Adrien Grenier) setting out to star in the fictional movie Medellin, which is based on Escobar. Vince eventually lands the role. The arc begins in season 3 and lasts through season 5.
