Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are gearing up to fight the enigmatic Darkness, and Ackles has revealed a new tidbit about the pre-biblical force.

"As of right now we have it built as one specific entity, obviously that would be a character that we're introducing," Ackles informed Entertainment Weekly. "But whatever the reach of that character, what that character can do, we're not quite sure of. We don't know the scope of her powers."

Do we already know who this character is? Ackles kept mum when it came to the character's name or who may play her, but viewers already know that the series will introduce a recurring femme fatale early this fall. Is Amara (Emily Swallow) connected to The Darkness, or will she merely be a hurdle on the path to an inevitable season finale showdown?
