She was willing to sacrifice having a child so she could stay with the man she loved, but Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) is in extreme shock following Ridge's (Thorsten Kaye) decision to end their relationship so she could have a child on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Ridge's Decision Stuns Caroline

Ridge initially told her he didn't want to have a baby again, but after talking with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) seemed to change his mind -- and told Caroline she could have a baby -- but that it wouldn't be with him.

Now, she is left reeling and broken-hearted over losing the man she fell so deeply in love with over the past year.

Thomas Makes A Move On Caroline

"I don't know how not to love him," she says to Thomas (Pierson Fode) in a preview clip for the Tuesday, September 1 episode.

However, her heartbreak could wind up becoming less intense when Thomas provides words of comfort, and reveals that his father may have been truly acting with her best interests at heart.

"I'm thinking he's seeing what I'm seeing and that you're giving up too much," he says in the clip.

Meanwhile, Ridge will seek out Brooke as he explains his shocking decision, which no one saw coming.

"Being with me has been a sacrifice," he says in the clip. "Now, she can focus on living the life that she wants."

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
