Pippa Middleton was offered a deal to appear on NBC's "TODAY" show, which would make Prince William's sister-in-law a contributing royal correspondent, according to a source.

Middleton, the younger sister to Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, was reportedly offered $600,000 to appear on "TODAY' show only 20 times within a year. A source familiar with the situation revealed that senior NBC executives are offering Pippa a "special correspondent" role because they see her "appeal as huge" thanks to her royal family ties.

"They see her appeal as huge as she is linked to the royal family and because of her popularity following the wedding when pictures of her went worldwide," a source said, according to Saturday's Mirror UK report.

The insider referred to Pippa's worldwide notoriety gained particularly for her rear end, which made headlines after she carried the train of Kate's wedding dress during her nuptials to Prince William. Also mentioned was the type of assignments Pippa, 29, would and would not report on. Out of respect for the royal family, she would shy away from "intimate" family matters.

"A couple of offers are on the table, but they would like her to make as many as 20 appearances reporting on Royal-themed events like the Chelsea Flower Show, the opening of Buckingham Palace and Opera House nights," the source said. "She will not focus on intimate Royal matters like Wills and Kate's move to London, Harry's return from war and the family Christmas. The offer gives Pippa the chance to have editorial input on what she says, and as most of this work would be pre-recorded she would not be caught out."

NBC spokesperson Megan Kopf, however, denied the report and said "no such offer" has been made.

"She of course is welcome as a guest on "TODAY" anytime," she told New York Daily News.

Pippa released her party planning book "Celebrate" in October. Despite major promotional efforts, the book received poor reviews and sold less than expected.
