'Supernatural' Season 11: Sam Has Latent Powers As Lucifer's Vessel? Jared Padalecki Teases Major Twist

Season 11 is just around the corner and Jared Padalecki (Sam) has promised the fall run will take a trip down the Winchesters' memory lane. The Darkness is upon us, and the key to defeating the esoteric monstrosity could be hiding in the hunters' past.

In early August, Padalecki revealed that Sam's anti-possession tattoo would return once more (check it out it the photo below). Considering the original tat was burned off during the Gadreel debacle, the pic had fans buzzing about the possibility of a flashback. It wasn't until the end of August, however, that Padalecki confirmed the rumors.

"You will get to see it in an episode," Padalecki confirmed at Creation Entertainment's Vancouver Salute to Supernatural. "It was for an episode and I don't think I'll be giving anything away by saying it's not current Sam. It's a flashback of sorts."

This peek into Sam's past, however, may reveal something that never even happened. It appears someone (or something) will tamper with the younger Winchester's mind during season 11.

"He starts to have visions or dreams of a higher power," Padalecki warned at San Diego Comic-Con, according to TV Goodness. "He's also having memories that maybe weren't memories."
