Malaga will take on Eibar in what should be a highly competitive Spanish Copa del Rey football matchup on Tuesday.  Coming off a 2-0 victory against Sevilla on Saturday, the Malaga squad was able to maintain its fourth place spot in the La Liga league.  In the process, the team recorded its very first away win in the respective tournament since early September.  Malaga will look to parlay its success into their current task at hand.

A penalty against Sevilla gave Martin Demichelis and Eliseu the momentum needed to obtain crucial points, as a red card was given to defender Federico Fazio in the 69th minute of the game.

Nonetheless, Sevilla didn't do much early on to help its cause, failing to convert the early pressure necessary for its offense to be effective.  Case in point, striker Alvaro Negredo had a golden opportunity via a wide open shot only to fire the ball off Malaga's goal post.

On the other hand, Malaga hit the back of the net near its first attempt when defender Demichilis executed a header under the corner post bar.

In its debut campaign, Malaga qualified in its very last-16 of the Champions League.  To top it off, the football club has also racked up 28 points in 16 games, putting them behind Real Madrid.

Barcelona, who remains undefeated in La Liga competition with 43 points, sits in first place while Atletico Madrid holds the second spot.
