The drug-induced adventures of Renton (Ewan McGregor) and his zany crew are to be continued...

In a recent interview with Deadline director Danny Boyles confirmed that a Trainspotting sequel is definitely on the cards, and here's the best part, the original cast members -- Ewan McGregor, Johnny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle, Kevin McKidd, Ewen Bremner and Kelly MacDonald -- want to reprise their roles.

Boyles spoke to the publication about the "work-in-progress" while promoting his latest film, Steve Jobs, which stars Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet.

"All the four main actors want to come back and do it," he said.

It seems like they the only obstacle right now is to get the actors' schedules to align for filming.

"Now it is only a matter of getting all their schedules together which is complicated by two of them doing American TV series," Boyle said.

The scriptwriter of the original, John Hodge, has scripted the sequel as well. The first movie was based on the Irvine Welsh novel of the same name, but Welsh never wrote a sequel to Trainspotting so this might have been an attempt from scratch for Hodge.
