After six season and 121 episodes, the series finale of "Gossip Girl" ended with fans learning the identity of the secret blogger, a flash to the past and a sneak peek into the future lives of the famous Upper East Siders.

The finale was a two-hour episode that began with a retrospective by the crew working on the show for six years. The show's creators and producers along with several cast members discussed several moments during the show's seasons, including celebrating real-life "Gossip Girl Day" with New York City Mayor Bloomberg in January as well as what it was like dealing with paparazzi and throngs of fans when they taped episodes in New York City and Paris.

They also shared which celebrities were a joy to work with as they had several guest stars over the years like Rachel Zoe, Elizabeth Hurley and Lady Gaga.

The biggest highlight of the final episode was the reveal of who was the Gossip Girl blogger. Dan "Lonely Boy" Humphrey (Penn Badgley) shocked viewers at home when he confessed to his friends that he was Gossip Girl all along. Before announcing the shocking confession in person, Nate Archibald (Chase Crawford) broke the news in his newspaper The Spectator.

"I wasn't born into this world, maybe I could write myself into it," Humphrey explained to his friends. "And when Serena came back from boarding school, I wrote my first post about me. 'Lonely Boy,' the outsider. The underdog. I might've been a joke, but at least people were talking about me."

Humphries also revealed that his troubled younger sister Jenny knew all along.

Actress Kristen Bell, who provided the "Gossip Girl" voice-overs during all six seasons, made a guest cameo on the episode. Bell and another guest, New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg, offered surprise reactions when the identity was revealed.

The finale also offered two surprise weddings, a new child and a member of the group possibly running for public office.

The first wedding was held in Central Park between Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester). Bass was considered a police suspect on the run for killing his father in the previous episode and his uncle hatched a plot in the finale that if Waldorf - who witnessed his father's slip and fall on the roof that led to his death - would marry him, then she wouldn't have to testify against her husband. As the minister quickly officiates the couple, officers swarm in and arrest Bass.

When the episode flashed forward five years later into the future, Archibald is seen discussing his run for mayor of New York. Later, a toddler named Henry appears with the Upper East Siders all sitting together in someone's apartment and it was revealed that Henry's parents are Chuck and Blair.

While everyone was sitting around, Serena Van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) walked down a spiral staircase in a stunning gold and white wedding gown. She went over to Humphries and together they walked over to a minister who began to officiate the couple for nuptials held in someone's home.

The wedding was a happy ending for fans because the couple dated in high school during the first season. Earlier in the episode, during a flashback, Humphries told van der Woodsen that he fell in love with her the moment he saw her at a high school party and was still in love with her.
