Daytime TV host Michael Strahan is famous for his gap-toothed smile. The former NFL star who has now become a very likable TV personality sitting alongside Kelly Ripa in "LIVE! With Kelly & Michael" talked about his famous smile, saying that he will never fix it.

In an interview with ELLE, Strahan admitted he was very close to closing up the gap between his two front teeth. "I was really close to closing it up. I was at the dentist having him do mock-ups. I thought about it, man," he said.

Strahan also went on to say that he is not perfect, despite the pressure to be perfect in today's world. "I was in my twenties. I was playing with the Giants. There's so much pressure to be perfect. You can fix everything now. For me, I made the conscious effort to say 'This is who I am.' I'm not perfect. I don't want to try to be perfect. At this point, I don't think my kids would recognize me without it. They'd be like, 'Who is this stranger in the house? Call 911!'"

Strahan replaced Regis Philbin on Sept. 4 as Kelly Ripa's new co-host in the newly named show "Live with Kelly and Michael."

On the first day as Ripa's co-host, the former New York Giants player and father of four gave Ripa a bouquet of red roses and picked her up, literally, for a huge hug before taking his seat by her side.

"It's so nice to have a co-host literally sweep you off your feet," Ripa said. "And I know that he can bench press me if he wanted to."

Philbin had left the show in November last year and the show has gone through countless guest co-host's to see who they would pick before Strahan was chosen.
