Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are totally back to being friends for real!

Just a few weeks ago, Gomez reached out to Lovato on Twitter, wishing the "Cool for the Summer" singer a happy 23rd birthday.

These young ladies have experienced quite the bumpy friendship over the years and until recently their friendship was nonexistent.

What Does Demi Lovato Do With Her Younger Sister When They're Together?

Lovato and Gomez became fast friends on the set of Barney & Friends and remained very close and even began making YouTube videos together when the social media platform became popular.

They've acted alongside each other in Disney Channel's Princess Protection Program and have sung together too on a song for that movie.

But like with all friends sometimes people drift apart (like when Gomez befriended Taylor Swift and they got closer in 2010).

Lovato and Gomez did return to their friendly ways despite the slight rift, but then they drifted again until now.

Anyway, Lovato just shared an adorable photo with Gomez today, Sept. 10, showing off their goofiness with some silly faces.

She even cleverly included her single "Cool for the Summer" and Gomez's new tune "Same Old Love" in the caption.

"Look at how #coolforthesummer we are.. Friends for years, #sameoldlove".

We love that these girls are back to being friends again. The sisterly bond between them is undeniable!
