A Florida girl was caught stealing packages from the doorsteps of her neighbors in Clermont, Fla. The 8-year-old girl's actions were captured by a hidden camera and the video was released this week.

The child was later identified but her name was withheld and face blurred on the video because she is a minor. No criminal charges were made against the young girl.

The video was taken by a neighbor who witnessed the Grinch-like girl's actions. It was later broadcast by local news stations.

Jessica Araujo, one of the neighbors who had packages stolen, said that three of her packages had disappeared over the last three months under similar circumstances. She told police that the approximate value of the stolen goods totaled $1800, according to Central Florida 13 News.

Three different homes had also experienced missing packages which prompted the girl's neighbor to set up a sting operation with a fake package that was filmed with a hidden camera.

According to The Orlando Sentinel, the police arrived at the young girl's house and she was questioned. The girl originally denied taking the packages, but admitted to taking only one as a dare by a friend.

Araujo does not want the girl to be in trouble with the police. The neighbor did say that the parents should take charge of the situation and have the girl apologize.

Araujo's comments were reported by The NY Daily News: "We want something done, in the form of the parents stepping up to the plate, taking accountability and saying, 'We're sorry this happened to you and the other neighbors,' maybe even having the child come over and apologize."

Police in Clermont plan on presenting the case to the juvenile division of the state Attorney's Office for further guidance.

It is unknown if the girl has yet to apologize for the thefts.
