They are constantly forced to fight off negative comments about their own marriages, but at least one upcoming marriage among the members of the Brown family from Sister Wives isn't likely to receive quite the same amount of criticism.

Maddie Brown, Kody's oldest daughter with second wife Janelle, is officially engaged to her boyfriend, Caleb Brush, news the family announced via TLC over the weekend, ahead of their season six premiere. And though the family is happy for the news, Maddie has made a decision with her fiance to not follow in their footsteps with a plural marriage.

"We are not living plural marriage," Brush, 28, told People magazine. "We support Maddie's family with their choice of living plural marriage and they support us with our choice in just marrying each other."

However, Brush did make sure to get Kody's permission before asking Maddie to be his wife with a blue diamond ring after they stopped at a scenic lookout point while riding ATVs.

"It was cold and we were huddled in jackets and I thought he was crazy to stop," the 19-year-old Maddie said. "He said to come look over here. So I walked with him to the edge. He told me he could never express how much he loved me, but he wanted to spend his life trying, and went down on one knee and pulled out a box. I started kissing him and saying, 'Yes, yes!'"

Fans did quickly take to social media to ask what the marriage meant for the young college student, leading her to reply that her plans to become a wife wouldn't affect her plans to eventually attend law school and continue working on her degree.
