Grey's Anatomy will return in a little more than a week for its brand new season on ABC.

Alex & Jo Will Be Integral Parts Of The New 'Grey's Anatomy' Season!

The premiere episode for Season 12 is called Sledgehammer and the medical staff at Grey Sloan Memorial will be acting fast with the hopes of saving a couple of young patients.

In the press release, the medical staff will spring "into action" in order "to save the lives of two young girls". The young girls apparently have a "powerful story," which will lead to some of the Grey Sloan Memorial medical staff to "revisit" their pasts when bullying came into play.

Can Meredith Grey Lead 'Grey's Anatomy' Like The Lead Female Characters On Shonda Rhimes' Other Shows?

That aside, viewers will see the new doctors in action! Actor Giacomo Gianniotti is pictured above in a new still from the season premiere alongside Sara Ramirez, the portrayer of Dr. Callie Torres and actress Joey Adams. Gianniotti is amongst the new cast members coming on as new doctors at Grey Sloan.

Plus, Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will work on adjusting to her new living situation while Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) keeps fighting for the coveted title of Chief of Surgery. She really wants that position!

None of these situations seem to dramatic, but the bullying subplot will surely bring up some old wounds. However drama will happen especially with Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) preparing for the return of Dr. April Kepner (Sarah Drew).

Grey's Anatomy returns to ABC on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET for its Season 12 premiere.
