'Girl Meets World" Maya To Forgive Her Father? Writers Tease Kermit's Debut

Now that a new generation has jumped into he world of Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) thanks to Girl Meets World, the complicated issue has been raised once more. While the new Disney Channel series has brought back a host of characters from the parent series, there are currently no plans to reunite Shawn (Rider Strong) with his birth mom.

The Girl Meets World writers addressed the issue in a Twitter Q&A last month.

There is, however, one mysterious birth parent that will appear in season 2. Maya's dad has been MIA for several years, but Kermit will come back into the teen's life in "Girl Meets Forgiveness."

Meanwhile, Shawn had the chance to reunite with his deceased father in "Girl Meets Hurricane." Chet is long gone, but his paternal guidance still resonates with his troubled son.
