Selena Gomez has been opening up more and more about her highly publicized relationship with Justin Bieber, which seems to have ended for good last year.

The 23-year-old is gracing the cover of ELLE magazine's October issue and she got pretty candid in her interview while taking about her ex.

Gomez discussed her "The Heart Wants What It Wants" performance at the 2014 American Music Awards, which allowed her to truly move on from her rocky relationship with Bieber.

"Everybody was talking about the same thing: my relationship," Gomez told the fashion publication, adding, "I was so exhausted. I said, I want this [performance] to be the last time I have to talk about this. And acknowledge this feeling."

The singer gave such an emotionally charged performance, which made her realize she hadn't even "scratched the surface yet," which is why Revival is so important to her. She will be telling her story as she sees it.

It's clear Gomez has tracks inspired by her on-and-off again romance with the Canadian singer, but she did protest that "Same Old Love" "'is not necessarily about a specific relationship," even though it seems to take digs at Bieber since people have been reading into the lyrics.

"This is kind of my 'forget it' song. I'm sick of all of it," Gomez declared, but her and Bieber seem to be at peace with each other these days even though he also seems to be taking inspiration from their past romance for his new music.

"I'll forever support him and love him in a way that.... We grew up together. I think people want it to be different," Gomez explained of where she stands with him now, adding, "I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner."

She was asked if she would ever rekindle her romance with Bieber down the line, but she truly has no idea what the future holds.

"'I don't know!'" the singer shouted.

It definitely seems like she's open to the idea of it since she didn't blantantly say "No!" Time will obviously tell if Gomez and Bieber's paths will cross in a romantic sense again.
