'Supernatural' Season 11: 'Unholy Alliances' Promised; How Will The Past Come To Haunt The Winchesters?

Richard Speight, Jr. is back on Supernatural's Vancouver set, but the actor isn't there to resume his role as the archangel Gabriel. Instead, Speight is ready to take on the monumental task of directing season 11's eighth episode.

Producer Jim Michaels took to Twitter to welcome Speight as pre-production kicked off on Thursday.

The photo shows Speight with the bloodied stake the Winchester bros originally used to kill the Trickster - years before they found out he was for more powerful than any demigod had a right to be.

Speight, for his part, is no stranger to directing. Along with a host of commercials, the actor helmed America 101 and North Beach. This fall, Speight will team up with fellow Supernatural guest star Rob Benedict (Chuck) to create Kings of Con, a fictionalized version of the pair's adventures at Supernatural conventions around the globe.
