It appears that Lady Edith will be in the official final moment of Downton Abbey's last scene.

'Downton Abbey' Star Says 'It's The Right Time' To End Series

On Thursday, Daily Mail posted an interview with Laura Carmichael (Edith) after she made an appearance on ITV's This Morning to talk about how she felt when filming the last scene of the series came about.

"It's been strange," she said. "In the first few months we were fine, but in the last six to eight weeks of filming we were just in bits the whole time."

Last Moments Of 'Downton Abbey' Will Be 'Very Exciting'

It was then revealed that Carmichael will be in the final scene of the very last episode although it's unclear on what will be taking place when that happens. Overall though, it wasn't an easy time for the actress as she had to keep herself in the best spirits she could until the series had its wrap.

"It was a night shoot, which we hadn't really done before, so we started filming at like one in the morning and filming till like 6am," Carmichael said. "It was a three-page scene with a lot of lines, so I was just trying to hold it together until the last minute."

"The last shot was my close up and then they said,' Cut!,' and I think I just sort of dissolved," she added.

Downton Abbey Season 6 premieres in the United States on Sunday, January 3 on PBS.
